About you As a 2nd Class Stationary Engineer ( Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 25 ), you excel in operating and controlling our central heating plant. You have strong technical expertise in boilers, chillers, water treatment systems, and related equipment, with attention to detail for monitoring, inspecting, and documenting system performance. Your mechanical skills support repair and maintenance of equipment, while analytical thinking enables effective troubleshooting and decision-making. You follow safety protocols and communicate well to support teamwork and reliable operations. What you will do Drive efficient and reliable operation of the central heating plant by operating and monitoring all systems. Inspect and maintain gas/oil fired boilers, chillers, water quality, and cooling tower systems to ensure optimal performance and sustainability. Repair and maintain equipment to keep systems safe and well‑maintained; document all inspections and activities. Test water quality, perform chemical treatments, and respond to critical alarms using computer-based control systems software. What you offer High school diploma or equivalent, ability to read; basic oral, written, and mathematical skills. Manual skills and the ability to operate machinery. 3–5 years of experience in operating power plants. Second Class Engineer license.
