ESQUELETO features a thoughtfully curated selection of fine jewelry, artwork, and both handcrafted and natural objects. Owner Lauren Wolf first opened the shop's doors in 2011 after relocating to Oakland from New York, where she established her namesake line, Lauren Wolf Jewelry. In 2015 ESQUELETO expanded to Echo Park, where Lauren opened her second store in the up-and-coming LA neighborhood. 2015 also marked the launch of ESQUELETO online, our comprehensive e-commerce site. In 2019 the company expanded again, adding a third brick-and-mortar in Los Angeles' Los Feliz neighborhood and a fourth brick and mortar location in NYC. We've just celebrated the one-year mark of our newest location in Mill Valley!
PART-TIME+ BENCH JEWELER
ESQUELETO is looking for an in-house bench jeweler to help manage production and repairs. This is a part-time-plus position located in downtown Oakland. Please see job description below and requirements for sending in an application.
JOB DESCRIPTION
+ Assist in production duties including fabrication, polishing, casting cleaning, stone setting and repairs
+ Serve as the point of quality control to ensure all jobs leaving the studio meet our quality standards
+ Work with production manager to fulfill orders, including invoicing, picking, production, packing, and shipping
Prospective candidates must demonstrate proficiency in:
-soldering gold and silver
-casting cleaning for production and one-of-a-kind designs
-chain repairs
-ring sizing + re-shanking
-stone setting
-laser welding
The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of jewelry production experience along with experience working on the jeweler's bench. Excellent communication skills and a high attention to detail are a must. This position marries bench skills and technical execution and the ideal candidate must be able to do both. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that is able to work both independently and on a team and able to function in a tight knit work place.
