Job Description

The White Plains Rural Cemetery was founded in 1854 and is a long standing site in White Plains, New York. The cemetery is expanding to maintain its historical footprint. This includes a newly constructed, state of the art Crematory. The position requires a minimum of 1-year work experience managing a Crematory. The operator of the Crematory will be required to hold a valid Crematory Operator Certification while employed as well as maintaining records associated with the licensure. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Scheduling cremations Performs all tasks involved in the cremation process Receives remains and ensures all documentation is complete Adheres to policies, procedures and reporting as required by the state, municipal and federal licensing authority regulations and cemetery Maintain organized inventory and anticipate needs for future supplies Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality Upholds professional standards related to appearance, conduct, and communications Person occasional janitorial tasks to maintain a sanitary work station Train future staff as applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to function and excel in high volume, fast-paced environment Cooperative, team player, detail-oriented and adaptable to change Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal skills Consistently and accurately perform tasks within the law of local and state regulations Commitment to customer service and quality Efficient and dependable; punctual Possess general office skills, use of computer, filing of documents Familiar with the operation and maintenance of all crematory equipment Ability to maintain effective relationships with all affiliates and or third parties Demonstrate a high level of compassion and integrity Ability to work closes with the General Manager of the Cemetery Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Must be able to lift at least 50 to 75 pounds without assistance and 75 to 200+ pounds with assistance Sit or stand for long periods of time, and withstand short periods of exposure to the elements. Solicit information from bereaved individuals and families at a time of mourning while maintaining optimum level of compassion and professionalism Multitask regularly Maintain records an service requests from multiple cases at once Work independently Compute simple mathematic equations Adapt to changing schedules Contribute to problem solving when requested The White Plains Rural Cemetery promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment and reserves the right to require pre-employment drug testing, as well as random drug testing once employed. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cremation Association of North America
