Description ERM Governance Officer III

This position will support the maintenance and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, focusing on risk governance, risk metrics tracking, and risk training. It will develop and maintain standardized reporting formats for risk-related governance documents and enterprise-wide risk reporting. The role also involves interfacing with risk committees and other business lines to manage and coordinate documentation of risk policies and related reports in line with Comerica's ERM Framework.

Position Responsibilities:

Oversight of Enterprise Risk Framework

• Ensure Framework is well documented, aligned with regulatory expectations and industry standards, supporting risk assessment activities across all organizational risks through appropriate hierarchies.
• Identify opportunities for improved alignment with the ERM Framework within the first and second lines of defense and collaborate with those units.
• Manage and enhance change control, enterprise risk hierarchies, lists, and risk rating criteria (Taxonomy, Business Unit, Process, Product, Risk & Control Library).

Enterprise Risk Governance & Documentation

• Coordinate policy reviews with owners, ensuring alignment with ERM Framework, including escalation procedures and formatting standards.
• Maintain Charter and Policy templates (support of Pathfinder).
• Document and update processes and procedures for Enterprise Risk Assessment and related policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
• Create ad-hoc reports to support risk assessment, implementation, and governance activities for committees and boards.

Management of Enterprise Risk Metrics

• Identify and report on enterprise-level KRIs and limits.
• Maintain Strategic Limits file; report quarterly to executive management and link limits to Risk Appetite.
• Develop and maintain dashboard reporting for EWRM and ERC, including quarterly metrics reporting aligned with the Risk Appetite Statement.

Enterprise Risk Training

• Facilitate regular risk summits with participants from all three lines of defense.
• Provide targeted ERM training on topics such as risk appetite, defense responsibilities, and risk assessment processes.

Other Projects and Support

• Offer input and feedback to risk assessment teams to align processes.
• Support documentation for the Annual Capital Plan, including narrative components.
