Job Description

Overview Auriga Corporation was established in 1990, to provide high-quality design, engineering and project management services for Electric Power, Telecommunication and Information Technology systems. Auriga’s clientele includes: investor-owned and municipal utilities, rail and transit agencies, federal, state and local government agencies, and international public and private sector organizations. Auriga Corporation currently has following vacancies in the Milpitas, California Office: Lead complete design process of high-voltage substations, including physical layout, protection and control systems, grounding, and conduit design. Develop and review engineering drawings such as single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, equipment layouts, and bill of materials. Coordinate with clients, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure timely and accurate delivery of project deliverables. Conduct technical reviews and provide quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) for engineering documents. Ensure designs meet all applicable codes, standards (IEEE, NESC, NEC), and utility/client specifications. Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, and technical studies. Lead the design and engineering of high-voltage substation projects (69kV to 500kV), overseeing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the successful execution of projects in compliance with industry standards and California regulatory requirements. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and leadership within the substation design team. Assist with business development and proposal efforts by providing technical expertise and estimating design hours. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline. Minimum 10 years of experience in substation design engineering (69kV to 500kV). Current California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required. Extensive knowledge of substation equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, control panels, etc.). Proficient in industry-standard design software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, or similar). Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards (NESC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI). Preferred Qualifications & Skills Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience working with California utilities (e.g., PG&E, SCE, SDG&E). Experience with substation automation and SCADA integration. PMP certification or formal project management training.
